Nigella Seeds
Nigella seeds, also known as kalonji or black cumin, are small black seeds obtained from the Nigella sativa plant, which is native to South and Southwest Asia. Despite the name, nigella seeds are not related to cumin. They are often used as a spice in various cuisines, especially in Middle Eastern, Indian, and South Asian cooking. Nigella seeds have been used in traditional medicine for centuries and are believed to have various health benefits. They are rich in antioxidants and have been studied for their potential anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and anti-cancer properties. However, more research is needed to confirm these effects.
